April is here! And so is spring. Spring represents new beginnings, a fresh start, and more sunlight! Spring is a great time to get into that workout routine that may not have quite happened yet for the year, and start eating lighter as the temperatures get warmer.
This month, we will be featuring products that facilitate weight loss, and help control blood sugar. Amino acids are a crucial part of any person’s daily regimen. Unfortunately, we may be protein deficient for many reasons, even if eating protein. Some people are not eating enough protein for their body’s requirements, others are not digesting it well.
Amino acids are a great way to sustain energy, support healthy bones, skin, hair, and hormones (yes hormones), as well as maintain energy.
I make a point to stress to all of my clients the importance of eating regularly, making sure to get a little protein with each meal or snack, to help stabilize the blood sugar. Stabilizing the blood sugar is critical to maintaining ideal weight.
The Perfect Amino product is a stellar protein option, and is something I use regularly. It is plant based (great for vegans and vegetarians) and is fully absorbed in 23 minutes. There are no fillers or binders used to make this product. In addition, no stress to the digestive tract is incurred when ingesting them. If a person is in renal failure, they are a fantastic option, as protein intake has to be limited in this case. Taking the Perfect Amino formula causes no stress to the kidneys, and is therefore great to prevent protein deficiency while causing no damage to the kidneys.
The only rule when taking this product, is that you cannot eat any other protein for 23 minutes. You may take them with a fruit or vegetable, however.
As far as doage goes, I take 5-10 per day (in batches of 5). However, if I am travelling, and not eating a lot or doing an extensive amount of exercise, I will take 15-20 that day.
This product comes in 3 forms: tablets, coated tablets, and a powder that can be mixed with water. If you want something quick and easy to carry around, this is it! I give this one to my kids regularly to support them during sporting events.
Dietarily, you can stabilize your blood sugar nicely by having small meals regularly, and eating a complex starch mid-day. The morning time is best to eat low sugar, as sugar is handled the best in the afternoon. That means low sugar fruits too (berries) vs. orange juice, etc. Juice is especially going to raise the blood sugar, because the fiber has been removed, in most cases. Fiber is one of the ways blood sugar is controlled naturally when eating a whole fruit. Since juicing removes fiber, juices are to be considered a simple sugar.
